Nature and Ashby House
For 16 days this Spring we've been captivated by this creature.  He hatched in April -- one of four bright blue eggs and grew from a scrawny pink fledgling under the nurturing eye of the Mother Robin.  On the 16th day, the baby chick stood on the side of the nest fluttering his wings for what seemed a disasterous flight.  He fell to the lower branches and then to the ground where undaunted, he chirped to his Mother and hopped across the driveway -- following her lead, to a patch of tall grass.  He never looked back.  One egg remains in the nest and everyone at Ashby House is watching.
